Delete your Nxtory account
This page explains how to delete your Nxtory account and everything stored with it.
Deleting from inside the app
- Open Nxtory
- Go to Settings
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm
Your account and its data are deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.
If you can't get into the app
Email contact@nxtory.app from the address on your Nxtory account, with the subject Delete my account. We will confirm once it is done.
We may ask you to confirm ownership of the address before deleting, so that nobody else can delete your account.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account, permanently:
- Your profile — name, email address, username, country and state
- Everything you have tracked — shows, movies and books, watched episodes, watch and reading logs, progress, and list states
- Your ratings and every diary entry
- Your Circle connections, in both directions
- Your notification device registrations
- Your saved statistics
- Your subscription records held by Nxtory
Your username is released and becomes available to other people.
What is kept, and why
Records of purchases. If you ever subscribed, Apple and Google keep their own records of those transactions, and so does our payment provider, RevenueCat. We cannot delete those — they are financial records the app stores are required to retain for tax and accounting purposes. To manage or cancel a subscription itself, use Subscriptions in the App Store or Google Play; deleting your Nxtory account does not cancel an active subscription.
Backups. Our database provider keeps encrypted backups for a short period as protection against data loss. Your data is removed from the live system straight away and disappears from backups as they age out, normally within 30 days.
Support emails. If you have emailed us or sent feedback from inside the app, that message stays in our support inbox as ordinary correspondence. Ask us in your deletion request and we will remove it too.
Cancel your subscription first
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — only the store can do that. Cancel it before deleting, or you may keep being charged:
- Google Play: Play Store → profile picture → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions
